Why study library science as a Missouri State undergraduate?

Library science can greatly enhance the study of information-related fields like education, journalism, history, technical writing, business or English. Library science courses can supplement your undergraduate degree by improving your abilities to do research and evaluate information.

The department offers two distinct minors:

  • General minor that supplements a B.A., B.F.A. or a B.S.
  • Specialized minor supplementing the B.S. in Education

If you are interested in eventually earning a master’s degree in library science, you should take these courses at the graduate level and not within either of the minor options. This will avoid unnecessary repetition of coursework. For more information, contact Dr. Bill Edgar.
